	Not sure if the author, Tom Bryan, of the article, "Joseph Partello's Record Breaking Match" in the Journal this month is on the board or not but if so here is some of the info I have on Partello. I have collected this over the years due to the fact that I found one of the 12 ribbons that I have attached to this thread when I found his picture in the book "L.A. Huffman: Photographer of the American West" by Larry Len Peterson showing Partello wearing the ribbon. I am always looking for more info so was happy to see the article.

	Very interesting to say least but what will be written about any of us since. Not talking about myself but all of the amazing accomplishments by some of those here and now. Such as Joe / Westerner and those only being just some of those of his own?

	Thanks for posting this. I always like to see things about the men who were on the frontier in the times we had territories that were still largely unpopulated and untamed.

	Nice research on the history of this man. I enjoy researching a little bit about the Creedmoor matches. Up until you found this, there were three men that supposedly shot 224's out of 225 in long-range contests. What interests me is that he shot this in Washington, DC. Most of us always think of just the Creedmoor Farm on Long Island but there were other 1000-yard ranges popping up throughout the country. Most have disappeared . One that I''m particularly interested in is the history of Saratoga, New York but haven't found much information on it at all. Have you found any sources for the history of these clubs and who might have shot at them and the scores obtained

Milton Farrow, I found mention that, in his first or second year of competitive shooting, he competed in a match at Saratoga. IIRC, he did not finish in the top 3. Found the reference a long time ago, memory fuzzy.

	Excellent post! It's amazing a man could be such a good long range shooter that the Army would give him a commission based solely on his ability to shoot! Even more amazing the same Army would ban him from competition because he was unbeatable! Thanks for bringing this information about Portello to ASSRA forum.
