Just returned from the Colorado Collectors Gun Show. Did not find anything to buy, but selection seemed pretty good.
Got to meet some friends:
Rodney's excellent castings, a few extra steps done to make them easier.
Greg's beautiful assortment of parts, that Damascus steel he is using is is something else.
Learned something about the metrology of index marks on Tony's excellent sights.
Got to see Vall's (marlinguy) latest acquisition, left drool marks all over it.
Good show, nice facility, well worth the trip.

Chuck,
You have me curious about Rodney’s castings. If you don’t mind saying, what has he done to make them easier?

Yes, I managed to get some drool on Vall's rifle, too. At the show as the result of a multi (emphasis on multi) gun trade I managed to end up with a beautiful Alexander Henry in 500-450 #2 Musket (AKA just 450 #2 Musket). Now all(?) I need is some brass and dies. Anyone have some taking up space? Or maybe can form some brass for me? MartiniBelgian reports that he hasn't had to resize his (except for the neck). Or, I can accumulate some 50-90 Starline brass to make it from as I have no interest in paying a lot for Bertram. Apparently you just cut 50-90 to 2.36 and run it in the die and you can then shoot it as is to form.

I managed to come back with empty pockets... Thanks Tony! it was a rescue and he caused me to spend it.
Chuck,
Really enjoyed the visit, we didn't solve all the issues of gunmaking but we knocked a corner off of it.
Krag,
It was great to finally put a face with a name and reminisce about common acquaintances.
From what I understand, they've moved this show back to the weekend in May where they use to have the Denver show! Fits my schedule so much better

The brass is pretty easy to form just with a sizing die, true. My favourite calibre, I have 4 rifles chambered for it. All Martini's

Dan and I were really planning and hoping to make it, but we just got back from 2 weeks in Africa. It really messed up our free time schedule, not to mention the gun budget. Maybe we will be able to make it next spring. We will be at Tulsa in a month or so, though.

Chuck, it's always a treat to get to see and visit with you, and everyone else I hope to see each year at this show. Only wish we were closer in miles so we could visit even more!
Chauncey's (oneatatime) Henry was spectacular, and tough to hand it back! So happy I got to see it in person, and hold it personally!
Besides the usual guys I look forward to seeing there, I met a few faces from here that I was tickled to finally put names and faces together with! All great guys too!

Bob, I may be slow, but looks like he has surface ground the sides to give a reference surface and a better starting place.
Good to see all of you and sorry I missed some.
