Heat treatment of Actions

May be needing a reliable Heat Treater.  8620 Steel and I don't want it Color Cased but rather Nitrated in hopes of keeping warpage to the minimum.  It is a Side Lever Bradshaw Action.  Any recommendations?  David

Not knowing where you live I have used a Heat Treating service in Hayward Ca. when having allot of bullet cherries to heat treat in the past. Any warping or size changes is not an option for my type of use.

Got an email out to him.  He would be my first choice as I imagine he's learned the ins and outs of the process.  A Favorite or Rolling Block I would try but not a Custom Action and from what I've seen a very good one.

Talked with Charles from Metal Treaters Inc. in St Paul, Mn.  Nice to talk with, knows his stuff and gave me a reasonable quote.  David
