This might be old news to many but I just found out that Red Dougherty died earlier this year. He was a great fellow, very knowledgeable on the subject of trapdoors, and a perfectly honest person to deal with. I needed some trapdoor parts once and he sent me a  whole box full of parts and said "pick out what you want and send me a check for what you want  and return the parts you dont need". 
I last saw him at the Tulsa Gun Show a few years ago. I great fellow shooter who will be sorely missed.
