	Thinking on buying this a nice Swiss martini in 22 hornet .Nice gun though I wish it was chambered for another cartridge as I really don t have any use for the 22 hornet and was wondering if the action strength on these martinis is the same as a standard martini henry

	I would think this action is not nearly as strong as a regular martini. Ledball

	I'd guess you say that because the left wall of the action is not solid with the rear wall, but look at the massive buttress supporting the contact point of the block and the rear wall.

	Yes I like it it has trunnions around the screws so it would be fairly strong maybe not as much is a solid one but close. In my opinion. Which is worth what you paid for it. I think it’s pretty cool be a Way for a fellow to make a single shot.

	In the mid 2000's a friend and I decided that we wanted to build a stainless Martini Cadet action. I still remember the work involved with machining the breechblock recess in the frame. We talked one day, about about this exact idea and here it has already been done, long ago. Amazing. I do have a partially completed full sized Martini action that may get its left side milled off. Thanks for posting the picture of your unique rifle. Otto

	I m still up in the air about buying it though I m really tempted.Just out of curiosity as if I did buy I d probably keep it in hornet but do you think the action would be safe enough for 45/70 black powder loads.

There are lots of "regular" Swiss Martini actions out there that would be suited to bigger cartridges. Another consideration of a "big" caliber is the size of the barrel shank threads. CHRIS

	I also just found this one of the navy arms 45/70 martini rifles built in the 80s so I m going to have to decide which to get
