#7 rolling block target rifle

Here is a Remington rolling block #7 target rifle that we made up from an assortment of original parts by assembling them on a Lone Star Receiver casting. Like Remington, I used the 1871 pistol internals, a hand forged mainspring, the RB pistol trigger guard, reshaping the tang as documented in Jerry Landskron's book on the RB pistols. The stock set was turned 90% by Treebone carving.  fitting the wood with this pattern is tight.  Should I do that again I will have George turn the stock set a little "fatter" in the wrist area.  All and all a very nice rifle, no serial number so as not to be confused with the rare originals. I call it a parts gun, I've heard others refer to them as ghost guns.  Given the price of #7s today it was both an interesting and worthwhile venture.  I hope the photos will load...if not will try again.

.22 rim fire was the cartridge that offered the best barrel and the least expensive ammunition to shoot on a regular basis.

Very nice in all aspects. Do you know if Treebone has the stock pattern or if he did this as a one off?

George has the pattern. Originally made for Lone Star Rifle as Dave made three of them according to his FFL books.
Last time out I had him turn 6 sets.  I am certain he will turn a single set, your wood or his.
