I myself now longer will deal with Gun Broker. If you are not perfect with putting up your ad,you may get screwed. I did just that over a year ago.Had an ad for buy now at $$$ .well somehow it got on the auction and a guy bid $1.00,in so doing he locked the ad up so I could not relist it.I went to GB and asked them to delete ad and i'd do it again. Nope, once a bid your stuck!! Period. Know it was my screw up,had sold alot off there site over the years. So I told em,I will no longer deal with you. I then proceeded to list $25,000 worth of guns on GI.A flat $15.00 fee with I think 12-15 pics...unbelievable! Sold out in three weeks. End of story.

To me Guns International is thee place to go and if you think you like it? As well as the discreption and the honesty of the seller you can just buy it. Unlike some of the auction sites to where you might actually be taken advantage of in the heat of the moment and now caught up in a bidding war over something that you yourself would like to have!

I suppose one could have a bad experience with any of the on-line services.

I've had very good luck marketing items on GB.com.  I do make it a practice of reviewing my ad right after I hit the "list" tab.  I don't understand the problem the OP's had if the item was to be sold as a fixed price unless the initial ad was incorrectly put up.  Catching those mistakes is the seller's responsibility, not the web site.

It's unfortunate the OP's had a poor experience with GB.com, but I don't think that deserves criticizing the site.

The sites do have practices in place to safe guard purchaser/bidders from scammers selling items and I know that will limit altering an ad once bids are received.

From a sales stand point, the auction option on GB.com can bring in better prices at times. There is a strategy that can be employed to insure good bidding and safe guarding a sale item.

I haven't worked with gunsinternational.  Another place to cruise  Smiley

I have listed and purchased on GB for years. No problems with the website or administrators in all that time.
GB tends to have a good number of rolling block listings at any one time. Like all websites there are sellers who have an over inflated view of the value of their items or actually do not know what they have.  I would like to think those are ill-informed rather than misrepresenting their items.  Nothing different from a Gun show or other such venue.

At times it is not all about the price.
When one has worked hard all of his life. Sometimes its just about what one has found and would now like to have in his life.

So the guy that bid the $1.00 in the first 5 minutes the gun was on the sight and me finding the mistake, just minutes later .Then contacting GB to remove ad and explaining what just happened...he never put in another bid.Whats that tell you? He saw I made a mistake and probably laughed about it. So be it.I would of paid out alot more to GB for listing those guns than with the simplicity of working with GI.

No doubt, at present the GI forum is the most cost effective gun sales program. When I signed up I was surprised by a call from the owner thanking me for joining and also reassured me his company worked with his clients to resolve mistakes. They appreciate your business.

My strategy for selling is start out at a reasonably high figure and weekly reduce the pricing. Sort of like an auction in reverse. It’s not long before a sale is made at a fair price for both parties. As for buying one learns quickly those dealers that will come off their high prices and those that won’t, a phone call is all it takes to make that judgment.

Hopefully as the word gets out the increase in business doesn’t cause another forum to loose sight of it’s customers and cashes in for the big money.

I have looked at GI in the course of gathering data for my survey of Stevens Model 44s.   My impressions from those occasional scans is that the asking prices for Model 44s are breathtaking,  (twice to three times what comparable guns would auction for on Gunbroker.), and the photos are usually few and slow to load.  If I were looking for a gun to buy I wouldn't give GI a second look.

Having a problem with GB now. Buyer of a rifle from me has a sales tax liscense. GB automaticly collected taxes from me anyway. Contacts from me seem to be going down a black hole. Automated reply from GB says they will look into it. Several weeks and no response from them. No way to call them and talk to a real person. Thanks for nothing GB.

If he didn't send you a copy of his sales tax license you probably have to collect the tax no matter what he "says."

I've used GunBroker for many years both selling and buying.   It has become a bit complicated since the elections and I am not sure that I will sell there next time I want to sell a rifle.   I do have a dealer friend who started out selling through Guns International, but switched to GunBroker after a year or so.   Guess I'll ask him why next time I see him.

In my case the buyer sent GB and myself each a copy of his license. There was nothing to misunderstand and no reason to collect the tax. The thing that I don't understand is why they say they are checking into it and I never hear from them again. I guess I'll just have to consider it a $30.00 lesson learned.

His sales tax license. The rifle was delivered to him because he has an FFL.

GB can occasionally "hose you" if you are not careful.  I find them irritating with regards to listings.  My pet peeve is looking at Shiloh Sharps listing and seeing other manufacturers thrown in.  A fairly common practice is a listing headed "Shiloh Sharps by C. Sharps" or "C. Sharps, not Shiloh",or the cretins building AR-15's marked "Shiloh AR-15's".  They seem not to be interested in removing cross listed items.  Wastes my time...
