I'm not trying to start a controversy, only curious.  In the old ASSRA thread that John Boy thankfully resurrected, it is stated that Zischang was the machine shop foreman at Sharps.  But I recall reading several times that he was a stocker for Sharps, and that his name or initials can sometimes be found on Sharps factory stocks.  So did he hold both positions at Sharps?

Bill if could share where you read that information it would be highly appreciated on my behalf.
By chance do you know if both Zischang and Schoyen were also shooting Schuetzen matches at the time.

I'm sorry, John, the bast I can do after so many decades have passed and my memory continues to dim is guess.  Back then - the '60s through the '80s, I got most of my single shot information from Grant's and Kelver's books and articles in the old ASSRA Newsletter, the Gun Digest annuals, and Gun Report.  But, for whatever reason, it sticks in my mind that one reference was in the Roberts and Waters book.

Both Schoyen and Peterson were active members of the Denver Rifle Club back in the heyday of their shop and I'm sure I've seen at least one club photo that includes them both (though, again, I cannot tell you where).  I also remember that Peterson was the somewhat better shot of the two.

As for Zischang, I don't remember reading that he ever shot competitively.

Agreed, and especially based on the circumstances.

Amen.  Please stick around.

Indeed, yes. Everybody brings something to the party.

God and the Forum know that you and I don't always agree, Vall, but what you know and share are too valuable to lose.  Please reconsider.

Marlinguy, There is, by any account, too much collective knowledge on this site to walk away from. You would be doing yourself a disservice, and most all of us by doing so. The decision  of course is yours to make, but choose wisely.

It was Lucien CARY.  Not Carey.

(I'm Harry's G-Grandson--->  Joe Carey. No relation to Lucien....)
