Any word on how Raton went last week? I figured someone would post something by now.

If you are thinking of the BPCR showdown it was almost a month ago. You can see the results on the Shiloh Rifle forum. If you are thinking of the NRA BPCR nationals they were almost 2 weeks ago in Ridgway, PA. The results can be seen on the Shiloh forum also.

I heard attendance was way down again this year and that something like only 36 had signed up. I haven't heard anything on the posted scores as of yet or the actual attendance number.

Yes, do that:  (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

Scores will be posted here when I get permission from the webmaster to post them.

attendance was down a little but with Covid restrictions it is a little bit understandable. Regardless we had a good shoot with ok Raton weather. it was good to see old friends again and see what lies they are telling now.
it was discussed how to encourage more participation and change formats to let older (?) shooters shoot bench matches and reduce the number of targets in off hand matches. none of us are getting any younger and backs, knees, eyes, and lungs are a little on the used side.
Yes , i will go back again!

I had to develop a new technique, it's called "imagining the target." This is our dauntless president shooting Ironsight Offhand  Cool

I see they already reduced the iron sight offhand to 20 shots instead of the 50. Looks like some good bench score.

The reduction to a two target match was necessitated by heavy rain early in the day.

We'll continue the 50 shot matches in the future, weather permitting Smiley
