I finally made it to the range with my chrome-plated Ballard in 30 Wesson. I picked it up back in May with a 38-55 barrel and what turned out to be a 30 Wesson barrel. The 38-55 barrel shot well but needed to be set back a turn to address an excessive headspace issue and I really did not need another 38-55 so I put on the 30 Wesson barrel and picked up a bench stock to replace the prong butt plate offhand stock that it came with. The barrel was a perfect fit as is and only needed some extractor fitting. I ordered an Accurate mold which showed up a few weeks back. Conditions at the range this morning were very good and after a couple of groups with varying powder charges, I shot this group. I think it is a keeper!

Yes, I would say it is definitely a keeper. Very nice rifle.

Jack, less than MOA always brings a smile. Presume the POI’s were from right to left

There was a bit of a wind that id hard to detect at my home range even with a couple of flags. It is 'normal' to get some horizontal dispersion. My 32-40 did very well except for one shot that caught a left to right wing change,

2 out of 3 rifles shooting very well was satisfying. The 3rd was my new to me, German Martini. I was trying some fixed ammo with a couple of different bullets at 200 yds. If I had a 6 FOOT group I would not be surprised. Only 2 holes in the large bull ISSA target. I need to slug the bore again. I think my bullets are too small in diameter.
Anyway, a few hours at the range is better than doing chores at home.
