Or I might take one out with one of my many wild offhand shots. I would need to buy camera insurance.  Sad

I have a wireless "nanny-cam" (baby monitor) that would work.  Cost me $89.00 on Amazon.  It would need a battery and a small inverter, since the camera end wants 110vac.  The receiver has a battery built in, normally runs for 4 hours before needing a recharge.  At that price you could bring a couple of spares.

The fact that the brand name is "GoodBaby" might get you razzed a little, but who cares?

I seem to recall that one poster mentioned an armored camera. The optics do not face the rifle.

I can think of many days when the heat devils get to doing their dance (mirage) at 200 yards at Etna Green and it becomes impossible to see .22 RF holes. When it gets to a certain point it will not matter what kind of rifle scope or spotting scope ( a Unertl Team Scope included because I tried that as well) a shooter is using, there comes a time when "nothing" works. That would be the time for a camera set-up for viewing just where the little buggers actually did end up.

Nobody would do that! Shocked Grin Grin Grin

I don’t think it would be any harder to hit a camera than a stapler.  Roll Eyes

The demise of that Stapler goes back quite a few years!

Having to resort to camera's to compete with those in the past while also reading both the ISSA and ASSRA Mission statements. Just doesn't quite make sense?

I'd like to own and use one just for practice at long range 1000 yd. targets! Would save a huge amount of time walking down range, plus I could spot my hits or misses without having to have a spotter with me during practice.
I could care less if it was allowed during a match. I'd just love one for practice sessions. Even a high quality spotting scope requires a person, and it wont record if you missed the shot, and didn't see where it went. At least a camera with recording ability will let me play it back and try to see where it hit or missed.
I'm thinking if I got a battery powered home security camera with a cell phone app, I might be able to set it up near the targets, but out of the line of fire; and video my bullet strikes.

Competing with those in the past?  How do you figure that?

I did splurge and bought a Caldwell long range target camera.
It works just fine. Reads to a I Pad I bought second hand.
Again as pointed out, it saves a lot of trips to the longer distant targets. But, as has been said, it still pays to have a good spotting scope to read mirage.

There is another benifit to target cameras and that is sighting in a scope at 200yds.  and plus ranges
Just place the camera at the range where you like and walk the bullet holes into the centre of the target
No more spotting scopes and sqinting and trying to convince yourself of the good job your doing
Throw caution to the winds and embrace the new technolagy

I still have an old camera system here some place. Used it a few times but found a spotting scope or scope on the rifle works better and easier for close range like two hundred yards.

Long range is where a camera really shines. Or if you have a bad neck or have trouble seeing with a spotting scope.
