How do you find a range or group for ASSRA shoots (Read 3146 times)

	So I'm still new to single shots and I would like finding a range or club that particiates in ASSRA events in my area. I live in Northern California in Sacramento, but my hunch is that the nearest place may be in the Bay Area. Thanks, I appreciate your help

	Would Modesto Ca. be close enough for you. We the Modesto Rifle club hold monthly ASSRA matches. There is also the Sierra Schuetzen group East of Fresno Ca. Our matches are the second Saturday of every month from Feb. to Oct. The Sierra Schuetzen group shoots once a month all year round on the last Saturday of the month.

	Yeah, Modesto would be in striking distance. I grew up in Chico and made that drive quite frequently when my folks were still alive. And at 90-miles Chico is a bit farther away than Modesto - just in the other direction. I'd like to come down sometime and at least watch an event. Fresno sounds interesting too but that's another 100-miles. Thanks!

	You would be more than welcomed to come and join use. If you have everything you need to shoot bring it with you. Right now our matches are 200 yard Benchrest and 2 targets each Any Sight, Iron Sight and 1/4 Bore.

	Everything I have right now is a work in progress but eventually I plan on using a Miroku Low Wall, and two Stevens rifles. And I really have no bench equipment to speak of. For starters I think it might be best for me to show up as a humble observer just to see what guys use and how everything works. That experience alone I'm sure will provide enough education on how to fill some of the gaps I currently have with my guns and gear. Thanks again.

You're going to flip out when you see how accurate those Miroku Low-Walls shoot. First time out just grabbed a box of cartridges off the shelf (which happened to be TAC-22's) and was amazed at how it shot at 40 yards. Rifle was wearing a scope and after I got it sighted in, I started making bug holes~!
