	Went to the range Sunday, took a 22lr hiwall. It started life as a coil spring Winder musket (wish I had left it alone). Wood courtesy of CPA, barreled by Jerry Barnet, crescent butt plate courtesy of an old friends junk box. I put it together some time in the 90s. It is obvious that it has had trigger work, breaks like glass. Very accurate, I should shoot it more often. Mike

	That's a beautiful piece of wood on that High Wall. I suspect many Winder Muskets gave up their original configurations for custom rifles ... I know I've owned a few. I love the German single-shot pistols in your display!

	I'm fortunate to have an excellent High Wall Musket. I don't plan to alter mine from its original configuration (You need to *Login* or *Register* to view media files and links) However, yours looks mighty good. If I had one that had been customized, I would love to have one like yours. Curl

	I have two High Wall Muskets in .22LR. One is a take down model. I enjoy shooting both.

As you know, atmospheric conditions can impede. I have the 20x-60x eyepiece. I suspect a purist would get slightly better resolution with a straight power eyepiece, but I don't know that for a fact. 	I'll add a bit more information. Several weeks ago I was shooting with a friend. He has the same Leica Televid 77 scope. He's getting ready for a bison hunt this fall and was shooting his Sharps 50-140 at 100, 200, and 300 yards. His range is a long expanse of grass. With the mirage conditions that day we struggled to see .50 caliber holes at 300 yards - both with his spotting scope and mine. Good glass is essential, but it will not overcome mirage, mist, haze, etc. Curl

	All those High Wall Winder Muskets are relatively rare, and the TD even rarer, 2nd Models because they are D&T for the 1901 Krag rear sight. All date from before the gov't orders of 1917.
