how to clean or rehab a mold

A few years ago I got some bad alloy, probably some zinc in it, and could not make good bullets. I ended up buying a new pot and mold, but to this day my most reliable bullets are ones made from this particular mold which was used with the contaminated alloy, but I can no longer make good bullets with it, and I am quickly running out of the supply of good ones. The new mold works fine but I am not getting as good results with the bullets from the new mold. I have cleaned with distilled water and Dawn, boiled it in distilled water, cleaned the cavities with isopropyl alcohol, denatured alcohol and acetone, and so far no luck. One of the two cavities will made good bullets but not the other, however, for some reason the mold has developed the habit of not wanting to drop bullets which slows me down quite a bit and creates a scar on the side of the bullet near the mold seam.
I would appreciate any help you can provide.
Thanks!

Burn the contamination out with a hand held propane torch. Keep it moving and don't get one spot to hot and you will start seeing the contamination starting to sweat out of the pores. When it stops sweating you are done.

Another thing you can try, is to take a bullet and put it in the mold so that you can hold it. Then drill  a 1/8 inch hole in the center of the bullet's base about a quarter inch to 1/2 inch deep. Turn in a sheetrock screw until it's tight. Now take the bullet out of the mold and coat it with a fine abrasive bore cleaner like Iasso or JB bore paste then you can spin the bullet with a screwdriver back and forth in both directions. You'll notice that the cavity will take on a new shine which is taking off just a little bit of the surface of the bullet mold but not enough to hurt the mold. This should make the bullet drop out of the mold more easily.

I have rehabbed some badly abused molds using this method.
First clean off all the lose metal stuck to the all the faces of the mold with a bronze brush. I also have a piece of bronze about 1/2 inch with that i sharpened like a wood chisel that I use to slide along flat serfaces to take off big spots Do not ues this in the cavity. Next soak it in Hoppies. Take it out once a day and while it down and clean any spots of lead with a bronze brush. Use a jewelers loop or a strong magnifying glass to make sure all the lead has been removed in the pourers of the metal. if not totally clean put them back in the Hoppies and soak again until you get the mold totally clean. Then degreased and clean with break cleaner.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I implemented several them with some success!
I chucked a bullet from the problematic cavity in a 5C collet and drilled a hole in the base on my lathe. When I went to extract the drill it was stuck so I just used the drill as a mandrel and applied some JB Bore paste and  lapped or polished the mold with JB. This morning I casted some bullets and was still not getting good bullets but they were dropping out with no problems. The other cavity was making good bullets but not dropping.
I then used a butane? grill starter to burn out any contaminants that might be in the cavity and the bullets started coming out good and dropping out with no problems.
Now all I have to do is get the other cavity to drop. I suppose I should lap with JB, which seems to have helped getting the bullets to drop. I am a little bit leery of messing with a cavity that drops good bullets but the failure to drop is slowing me down quite a bit.
Thanks everyone!

JoeS the propane grill lighter probably did not provide enough heat to burn out all of the existing contamination. Did it start and stop sweating the contamination out of the pores. If done right you can see it sweating and coming out of the pores and when it the sweating is finally burned off its done and ready to use. This also needs to be the very last process as you would now have JB in the pores and it too also has to be removed. When using a hand held propane torch leave the blocks on the handle. Hold the blocks open and keep the flame about four inches away from the blocks and just keep it moving across both faces until its done. I know there might be a fear of warping the blocks but if you keep the flame moving all will be just fine. As you may or may not know I make my own bullet moulds and during this process the cavity does get contaminated and the above is how I clean all of them before use. This was handed down to me by Barry Darr who also did the same when he was also making bullet moulds back in the day.

I might also add that at times there is also a slight burr created from the mould cutting process. A wooden toothpick can be used to pull these burrs off of the sharp edges by pulling it at an angle from the inside out. It will also scrape wood off of the tooth pick if being done right and these burrs can also keep a bullet from wanting to fall out. When done using the toothpick that now has these burrs raised and exposed. Go over the face of the blocks very lightly with a fine 1/4X1x4X3 inch stone and be sure to always keep it perfectly flat and they will now be completely removed.
Also do this before burning out a new or a used mould as the stone will also add contamination into the pores.
