Nothing really changes, BUT the selection of cast bullets in their database is not comprehensive.  To see what they have, look above the "Selected Bullet" bar top left for "File:\xxxx"  Click that, and you'll see all the bullet mfgrs whose products they have cataloged.  Find "Lyman" and select it.   Now when you click the down-arrow on the right of the Selected Bullet bar you will get a pulldown of all the Lyman mould numbers they have catalogued.  Select one and go.  But check their data. For example their entry for 257420 says 68 grains, but my bullets are 73.7 grains with gas check and lubed.  They also think the bullet is .560 long, when it's really .615" long..

The only other mould-maker they have catalogued is RCBS, for some reason.

If you are using an unlisted mould, you will have to create a custom bullet. You'll have to know weight, diameter and length of the bullet you want to create.

Look at the very top left.  There's a row of buttons.  Fifth from the left opens the data-entry panel.  Program will save to whatever catalog you have open at the time.  I'm still trying to figure out how to create a blank catalogue for all my customs.
For now they're in the default catalogue QLOADFW.bul

Powders are a major kick against QL from the naysayers online, and there certainly are some.

No, there is no way WE can add powders to the database, and yes, there are a number of newer ones that aren't there.  I'd like to see 300MP, for example.  My understanding is that they do their own testing to determine powder parameters, and they seem to have slackened off in recent years.

NOE has a .bul file for their bullets.  Download it from the NOE website.

Good to know!  Thanks!

-----------------

Got it.  Watch what diameter it plugs into the data panel.  You'll likely have to edit it to whatever diameter you sized to.

Looked to see if Accurate has a .bul file, but no.

Go to the NOE website and download their QuickLoad bullet file. This is extensive and you can find a cast bullet fairly close to what you are shooting since they offer similar bullets.

For breech-seating, I give the bullet a -.060 seating depth and this has proved to be accurate. The program will ask you every time if this is the seating depth that you want, but go forth.

Also, I use a .321 bullet on the .32-20 case for the .32-20 CPA, the program will question this also.  The .32-20 WCF is set up for a .312 bullet in their database. I need to take time to create the .32-20 CPA cartridge rather than mess with the warnings.
