	All blizzards have to start somewhere. Mike might be flash frozen to his bench as we type. He's only been back from Yuma for a week.

	Just got this picture from Mike. Gene practicing from the plank. Two day round ball match there next month. Those Montana boys will do anything to win.

	I'm glad they're keeping it up north, they're far enough north there they don't see spring for another 23 days We had heavy winds from the south all last night, down to a dull roar at 24mph right now and a balmy 45° making the ag folks happy with some moisture though. The guesser's early last week had us in the snow for the weekend, happy they were wrong.

	I'm familiar with plinking, but this is the first case of planking I have seen.

	Thanks Joe. I'll have to take a plank out to the range & start a trend here. I can imagine the strange looks. Would be quite a comfortable & stable kneeling position, though with my knees I probably wouldn't be able to stand up again to reload! Spud

	One plank fits all, Spud. Kick in the pants and you can do some perty good shooting that way. Going to use my new Hawken rifle at that match. They can practice all they want.

	Old as dirt and I learn something new everyday. Benchrest to accommodate rifles with stocks that have a lot drop at the heel. Westerner, thanks for sharing that marvelous painting. Hayface

	I notice that in the print they are shooting from a 1 by but in the photo he is using a 2 by. Is that a legal modification? Would shooting from a 1 by put him in traditional class?

	In the painting it is an oak plank. If you use modern fir planks you need to have a two-by.
