I have been kicked harder by such a rifle than I have been by horses growing up as well as some milk cows. Very nice rifle and they used to use some very nice wood!

Ya a traditional hunter 45-70 with curved metal plate and a max load with a 500g rcbs knocked out a filling.

I almost bought one of those when they were first our on the market. The dealer didn't have a caliber I was interested in, and I never had the urge again. Good looking rifles, ain't they?

That's a really nice rifle.

My very first single shot rifle was a Browning 78 chambered in .25-06 way back in the day.  It was a great shooter and fostered my interest in single shot rifles.

My second was a Ruger No. 1 in .30-06.  Also a great rifle.

Then I started into vintage single shots.
