....anyone have any idea what this rifle might be.

Described as falling block single shot, unknown 30 caliber center fire, 23" barrel.

Thought it might be worth salvaging for the action.

Looks like a flobert, very weak actions, parlour rifles.

I believe it is a Henri Piper made in Belgium. Lever and b block are one piece. The hammer locks under the block a bit like a rolling block

That's what I was originally thinking but I have (2) Cape Outfitter 22lr kits coming I bought for cheap at an auction and a Spanish Oveido Rolling Block re-barreled and chambered for 45-70 that needs some love so I am going to pass on this one.

A couple of years back, a friend tried a similar gun at our range.  A CCI .22 Target Short blew the action open and threw the empty case into the shooter's face.
