	Just bought this one from Wards. They listed it as 32-40, which I highly doubt. Has anyone ever heard of one in 32-40, and I guess I'll have to make a wiping rod. Aaron

	Glad you finally found one, Aaron! They came in two 8mms, the 8x42R a bottleneck (should be real obvious), and the 8x57R (360) which should be a really neat cartridge. Looks like it might have a custom buttstock.

	I think the forestock might be customized also? The thimbles look larger than what mine has, or any others I've seen? Normally they're small enough that you need to use a small .30 caliber steel rod, as nothing larger fits. I have a segmented '03 Springfield cleaning rod in my thimbles.

	Well, I have another buttstock that is checkered, we'll see if it matches the forearm better. Maybe it's a larger caliber, 9.3? Let you know more when it's in my hands. While I've gotten a few losers over the years, my auction luck has been excellent. Aaron

	My rod is brass and .205 in diameter. The short jag of about .277 (for the 9.3mm) is steel and looks to be pressed over the end of the rod. The thimbles are not all that much larger than the rod. Aaron, the 32-40 case is about 3 mm short and maybe .005 larger in the head. The rim is about .020 smaller but if a 32-40 will chamber and extract I see no reason why you couldn't shoot it in your rifle.

	My card was charged on the 8th, so I'm hoping to see the rifle soon. Time will tell just what it is, if I can figure it out I also grabbed a medium frame Hopkins and Allen in 32-40. I have one in 32-20 and it's a fav. I really need another safe. Aaron

	yes the 32-40 fits, I'll see how it shoots this week. Going through my cleaning kits looking for a wiping rod, I can't find one like Vall suggested online. Bore is like new, happy happy. The 32-40 Hopkins medium frame needs a come-a-long to cock and a dually to pull the trigger. I'll get into it tonight. Aaron

	Got my Ballard from Wards today. They said they'd hold my personal check 10 days before mailing but they had to of mailed it out almost immediately upon recieving it.

	Used to see those segmented steel GI cleaning kits, with the pouch at our local gun show often. But since it's been over a year since we had one, I'm unsure where else to look? Hopefully we'll be back in business by April, or May as the state begins to reopen?

	I forgot about gun shows, the ones here don't have anything I'm interested in. Luckily, here in Florida, none have been cancelled since this all started. I'll get the next one at the County Fairgrounds, thanks. Aaron

	If you ever see a couple of the Swiss STG57 (I think) cleaning kits in the heavy OD green rubberized canvas cases buy two. And see if liberty tree collectors sells them as they also sell the metric to inch brass adaptors as well. I have a couple I use for hunting and occasionally gun shows. They have brass ferrules where the sections screw together so shouldn't damage the bore. The G.I. rods sometimes don't exactly match up leaving sharp edges. Frank
