I have happened upon a Springfield Sharps rifle in 50-70. Condition looks to be excellent and the ser no. is 26

Any rough guesses on the value?

If your rifle is not in 7.62 and you can't hit what you are aiming at with de-linked machinegun ammo you are a pretender.

If the bore is good it's worth a lot of money. I would guess somewhere between $2500.00 and $7000.00.

One questionable thing it appears that the barrel and rear sight may be a replacement.

That is the type 2 version, of which 300 were made. Does the barrel serial number match the frame?  Looks like a nice rifle.

At this period, Springfield experimented with several rifle conversions. I have a m1871 Springfield Spencer 2 band rifle. This was an interesting period at SA.

The barrel carries the same number. The seller sent me 7-8 photos and overall it looks quite nice. Price is close to $7k

$7k is way too much, IMHO.  3-4.5 K probably real world.
Of course, if it really blows your skirt up...   Cheesy

This is the seller's advertisement:

According to Flayderman’s Guide to Antique American Firearms only about 300 of these rare rifles were produced at Springfield Armory.

LeRoy Merz sold one of these on GunsInternational
a while back (6 months ago?). It had a good amount of its case colors. Overall condition was 90%. It sold for $5500.00.
