And the rest of the story!
Anytime Mike gives a ‘Nifty” for a gun that is built, it’s an honor!
Last I saw he had 400 guns built!  He also teaches.

a very pretty flinter for sure!
i own a rifle made to replicate a late Hawken which was made by a builder in Oregon i think. ! !/8 inch barrel .54 cal. it is a beast but has won me some nice prizes and it still  puts them center. My second love tho is my custom trade gun, no sights, no rifling,no set trigger, it has built in alibys. an aluminum can at 25 yards does not have a prayer. and there is something about that flash before the bang that is priceless. lets show more on here

ah heck  AA#9,4227,300MP, as long as it goes bang

I've loved flintlock long rifles for as long as I can remember, say 5 years old or so.  If I've ever seen a more enticing one, that I can't remember.

Bob, that is a very beautiful rifle, very tastefully executed, fit and finish first rate. Congratulations!

This was the 5th gun I built, finished in 2004.  I never really had good pictures of it until now.  I had given it to a very good friend that did a lot for me.  He passed away last year and the gun is  going to a family member.  The family loaned it to me in order for me to get these pictures.  I know it's not a cartridge style single shot, but it is an important gun to me and wanted to show it.

Brass and silver inlayed wire.  Engraving and Incised carving.  Modified, cast trigger guard and butt plate.  The rest of the brass and silver mounts, along with the trigger are hand made by me.
Thanks for looking.

Classic Bucks County. VERY nice. I have castings of that trigger guard if you want to make another. What caliber is it?

Thanks everyone.

Mike, it’s a 40.  He was older and just shot targets and steel.  Although he never shot this gun.  Might take you up on one of those guards sometime.  I would really like to make another one of these but don’t know if I have it in me to make everything again, especially the entry pipe and extension.
