I have a J.M. MARLIN NEW-HAVEN CONN U.S.A. BALLARD'S PATENT . NOV.3 18?8 marked action that my brother-in-law was reworking from .40-63 Ballard bad chamber to a .25-20 WCF.  He cut the barrel and relined it to .25-20 then Agent Orange took him.  I would like his project completed if it can be.  I think everything is there for the action but the extracter may be bad.  I live in Indianapolis and don't know of any gunsmiths that could finish the work.  Could you guys give me some names and phone numbers of gunsmiths that might take on a project like this.  I think the action is cast which I know isn't the high dollar action.

I don't know if Richard Binger is still working, but his Stott's Creek Armory is more or less in Morgantown, Indiana, therefore relatively close to you, and he has certainly built some outstanding single shot rifles.
