40/50 BN twist rate in #1 Remington

Does anybody know the twist rate Remington originally put in these rifles?

1-18  was pretty common and some of the 40's got 1-20

Thanks Ranch13, that was what I found referenced for Sharps in the same cartridge. There is no need in my mind to spin them any faster with the bullet weights appropriate for hunting.

Well they worked then should still work now. Wink
Keep the bullet right at 300 grains and all should . Might want to do a chamber cast, but probably find the groove on those at .403
