1885 Low wall

Just picked up this 1898 vintage beauty. It’s in 32RF but I intend to swap out the barrel for a new Douglas in 22RF. I also have a replacement rimfire breech block. I’ll keep the old components in case I or somebody down the road wants to swap it back.

You know, that's an easy conversion to 32-20. Just need a piloted chamber reamer. If the bore is in good enough shape and the low wall can handle that cartridge. If not, you can maybe reline it to .22. However you do it, it'll be a lot of fun as a project. Good luck with it!

Thanks Gunfunpow but the bore is pretty much shot. I may try to have it relined but I’ll leave that decision up to my gunsmith.
