With your 14" twist you are pretty much topped-out with the 86gr bullets. You might get away with 90 or 92, but you will have to test. One barrel will do well and the next in the same twist won't. Go figure.

bullshop,

A single shot Krag in 25-20 ?  Now that sounds interesting. And creative.

Also have one in 22 Hornet, with set triggers.

[quote author=4848487374746F7E691B0 link=1607002525/10#10 date=1608988668]bullshop - are you "the" Bull Shop bullets (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) located in MT? If so, you might mention the fact that you sell 25-20WCF loading 'stuph', which I use in my Win Model 92 for pistol caliber silhouette.

Why is it that 25-20 is the popular caliber to reline when the 25-21 is the Stevens step up caliber?

I put a 25-21 Douglas barrel on my CPA 44 1/2 with 50 lathe turned cases from Rocky Mountain Ctg and an Unertl scope ... and couldn't be happier with accuracy out to 200yds and the soft felt recoil

No doubt 25/20 case could perform well with the right bullet and twist, Paul Shuttleworth did very well with a 32/20.

Specials aside 25/20 WCF with factory chamber and twist is probably not ideal for 200 yard shooting .

We have a vintage modern Bond  mold that produces as 25 caliber 90gn spitzer plain base bullet that seems to stabilize in the 1/14" twist.  I tried it in a Marlin 1894 just to see if it would have some wobble but holes on paper at 50 yards were round and it grouped pretty fair.   If accuracy is good that bullet should do good work at 200 yards.

Yes we are The Bullshop

You might start a listing in the classified section detailing the 25cal bullets you offer. I'm pleased with the ones I got from you.
