Remington sight question

The attached sight pic is from a Custom Rolling block by Slotterbeck. I just saw another rolling block with empty dovetails just like it. Has anyone seen this before ?

The early Rolling Block Creedmoor rifles had front sight with two dovetails. I can't find a photo of my past rifle but I know they show it in Marcot's book.
