I found this 1975 catalog from Barry Darr.  I scanned it and am including it here for your pleasure.

Thank you for posting the Barry Darr 1975 catalog. Now that Barry is no longer with us, that catalog is a piece of history.

Maybe because they were good enough to keep! I dont recall when he joined up with Saeco, but his moulds would have been marked Saeco from that point on. Maybe those that have his moulds could chime in.

Jlouis  Just not sure how long he was making moulds under his own name, which would affect the numbers identifiable. Also interested to know how many here have his moulds in their collections. Of the work of his that I have seen, it was exemplary, so just lookin for reasons why more are not seen.

I don't recall when Barry was hired by SAECO but I do know he started up and was overseeing the bullet mould making lead pot department. He purchased all the equipment, mills, self-centering vises, etc and made all of their cherries. His rifle shop was adjacent too and a separate business not tied to SAECO's. That is where he drilled, reamed, rifled his Darr barrels, built rifles, did gunsmithing and with his own equipment that be brought with him when he moved. He made his first barrel after his second tour in Vietnam at the age of either 20 or 21 I forget exactly which.

Thanks for posting your investigative work on SAECO-Darr. Those bits of history have a positive impact on our sport.
After Barry moved to CA he came over to a couple of our matches in Phoenix. In 1979 I bought a SAECO-Darr BR rifle with a FBW action, .33-47 Darr heavy barrel and Larry Amrine stocks. Nice rifle and accurate. I shot it for a lot of years including a 1st place BR at the 1989 Coors Schuetzenfest. Sold it about 15 years ago, probably shouldn't have.

It makes me happy to see all the personal knowledge being shared and enjoyment something like this brings out.
I found this in papers I saved from my friend Charlie Hart's estate.  It was going to be thrown out and I was glad to drag it home.

Have a new single cavity of his mold's only marked with a Scribing Tool  ... 379300 for a 38-55.   
No idea if this is a Barry Darr mold before or after he joined Saeco. So going to guess - Before because of the use of a Scribing Tool only
