Anybody have any ideas on smokeless loads for. 22 Maynard extra long using 40 to 50 gr. bullets. Any suggestions on powder type  and amount  would be appreciated.

Comparable to  22 long rifle which I reload .. 2.0gr of Bullseye and 6gr FFg black powder with 46gr bullets

Grant's load was 4.6 grains of 4759 with a 45 grain bullet from a .22 WCF mould, Remington #6 1/2 primer.    (Page 127 of More Single Shot Rifles.)  He claimed  1 1/2 inch groups at 100 from a Maynard.

I posted the same question about 2 years ago. John Bly responded with load info. I looked for it but have yet to find it, life got in the way.

Buffalo Arms did offer reformed cases. I tried to reform .17 cal CF, but new at that end of the sport. Any info on case forming would a big help.

Lee,
Recently I stumbled on a couple pounds of this, it was going well with the primed 22rf brass I picked up.
"Vihtavuori’s 3N37 handgun powder was originally developed for .22 rimfire cartridges, but has since proven to be very versatile and desirable within all competitive handgun shooting disciplines."

I don't recall my loads exactly but it is a published load and it works well.

I have had some excellent results in a Rook rifle with Viht 3N37 and now trying it in several others. Thanks, ratseye
