Hornady 45-70 Brass

Bought an assorted lot of (200) pcs 45-70 brass a couple of weeks ago and just started sifting through it.

One thing I came across, there were about (40) pcs of Hornady and all were just a little shorter than everything else. Is this something to expect with Hornady 45-70 brass?

Thanks

Their "Evolution" brass is a little shorter than normal in .45-70 to accommodate the pointy plastic tip bullet they load and keep the cartridge short enough to go through lever action mechanisms.

Might give you trouble if you do black powder paper patching, but should work OK for other loadings.

Thanks BR, currently loading with Triple 7 as I have less than half pound of the holy black which I'm saving for my 1858 Remington revolvers.
