Archiving some old gun books online
Apr 25th, 2020 at 6:14pm
Print Post
I have been working on providing a free and publicly available archive of some vintage gun-related books, magazines, and research online.

I wanted to highlight some of what is already uploaded.

Dan H donated 2 Sedgley catalogs which included the specs and prices for custom Sedgley high walls.

I have also uploaded 500 pages from the "guns and ammuntion" section of Outer's Book 1910-1920s era

Thanks for the work you are doing there. I just gathered wool for about forty five minutes while I 'browsed' the Severn Gun Room. Unfortunately, when I looked, my money is still in my pocket, despite saying "I'll take that that one!" many times.
Cool stuff take an attaboy. Smiley

"I'll that that one!"

Are you looking for material to archive ?

Does the service cost anything, either for hosting or for access?

I am looking for material and taking material donations in current situations such as Dan (the Sedgley collecter) providing 2 catalogs.

The Internet Archive is free to host and provide access on more about it here (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links)

I would encourage anyone to download any of the books and store and host them however they see fit it only help preserve the files in the long run.

Hello John
Are you doing the digitizing or are you using material already in PDF form?

Thanks, Don
