I learned from someone today on the FB Rolling Block group that this style of engraving is named after the Acanthus plant, which I was unaware of.
Learn something new every day if you're lucky.

Aaron, it is a very neat pattern whatever it is. Now, please tell us about the lump sight.

Here's a view of the sight and the Litshert scope I added.
Westerner suggested leaving the sight and it might require removing the barrel to get to it.
I'm learning to live with it, the scope draws my eye away from it.
I'm hoping to find another great deal, this one and the Husky 33 I recently acquired came very reasonably.

I hope it shoots as well as it looks and a very nice rifle indeed. Aaron out of curiosity how is the sight attached you mentioned the barrel might have to be removed to provide access to it. It is such things that give a rifle it's own very unique personality and I would leave it be.

Hi John
There is no visible way of attaching this sight, so I think it's held from inside the receiver, which would have to be in the barrel channel. Maybe it's screwed or swaged, really can't tell.
I'm gonna leave it on.

Looks great with the scope on it. Let's see some targets soon! And some from the Husky, too!

Thanks, I should be out of the house soon, but my friend with the range just bought a drag car project he wants to make pro-street with my help. Might be a while till I shoot it.

That is a neat rifle, man. I wouldn't even think of taking the sight on the bridge off, either. After you get tired of telling your admiring public at the range about the engraving you can thrill 'em for a while longer by pointing that out. Neat stuff.

The motif on your new roller looks to be grape leaves, Reb.

quit wine-ing. Wink

I don't know, maybe. Is that a popular style of engraving?
Perhaps a tribute to Bacchus, promoting "group tighteners"

Popular yes. Very nice. Can you post more pictures of the action?
