I have done that to several of my mould handles in the past. When adjusted correctly it takes allot of abuse away from the alignment pin holes. And even more so as I make most of my own moulds out of brass. I also like to use a hold down spring on my sprue plates. I get these from Verl Smith at LBT moulds and I actually need to get some more.

What meLander of NEI Molds about 20 years ago was selling modified RCBS handles that had little spring loaded set screw sort of things on the handle so the blocks would hit at the front first and then close at the back. He gave me one of his early sets to try out the problem is the tension on that little set screw it always come loose.
