Wow. Recovering metal from dross must be a chore.  I bet that dross had lots of tin and antimony in it.  I've thought of trying to recover the tin I see in my dross can when casting lead/tin bullets after fluxing.  I always end up throwing it out.  Is that a sin?

40_Rod: Can't argue with eye witness testimony. Thanks cause I have lots of spacers and banks around.  I got that information about only using the words from an article by Walter G. Hudson. He was developing loads with cast bullets for the Krag around 1900.  In the article he advised to discard the spacers for the reason I gave.  I can find that article if anyone is interested. Thanks for keeping me straight.

I regularly skim my pot without fluxing and knock the dross in to a pot.  When the pot gets full I melt it, flux it, and get 2-3 lbs of alloy. I have saved enough to get a pot full, fluxed it well and cast bullets from it that weighed exactly the same as my match bullets cast from virgin alloy.
