I have in my collection of 1885 winchesters a high wall in 32 Special, #3 round barrel
does anyone know how many of this caliber were made,
just curious as this is the only one i have seen

The 32 winchester special dates to 1901. If your rifle dates to before then it was rebarreled. I had one years ago and found this out.

Dave,
Over on the Winchester Collectors forum, Bert Hartman has put together a listing of the numbers of Win 1885 chambered in various cartridges based on research of the Winchester factory ledger. He states that in the Win factory records list that 26 HWs were chambered in 32 WS with another 12-18 likely made after serial number 109 999 (factoruy records missing after this serial number). So total production of HWs in 32WS probably falls somewhere between 40 & 50.

thanks for the info. i figured there were not that many made. i would bet mine is original as to frame and barrel 
the lower tang has been replaced and it has been re stocked with beautiful burl wood
