The Bench Source annealer is a pleasure to use

I just finished annealing 120 cases.  Total time from setup to storing the unit away afterwards was less than 15 minutes with only one torch.  With two torches the time would be reduced to around 10 minutes, but I see no reason for two.  I’ve used the unit for 7 years and annealed over 8,000 cases so far.  BTW, I anneal after each match.

BTW, although I love the Bench Source annealer, if I were buying one now I'd go with the Annealeez Gen 2 unit. In my article on annealers I commented, "The simplicity of the design and price is appealing and this is the unit I would purchase now if I did not already own the Vertex Bench-Source annealer."

Another informative article Wayne. A friend of mine has been using the low temperature heat treating salt method for a while now and I’m really leaning towards setting that up. He uses a homemade brass holding plate that he runs plain bolts through to rest on the bottom of the salt pot. He turns them in and out to set his depth where he wants it, regardless of the salt level. Anyway, thanks again.

Wayne, how does the Bench Sourse one work, I see the torch aimed at the shell, looks like the black table rotates, then what?

Thanks, Ed

Ed,

As they say, "a picture is worth a thousands words" or in the case a video.  Click on the link below and about 2 minutes into the video you should have you answer.

Wayne,  Thanks, looked at both annealers, understand them, BS looks slower, more precise, Annealeze looks faster, more opportunity for a jam, though.  Need to save up to use on old ammo.
