I really like the simplicity of this Farrow design

A good single trigger is the best improvement the long action could have.

Rodney, do you have a Model Year designation for the long action?  All the originals I have recorded have higher SNs than the shorter actions.

regarding the model , IDK. i just call them long actions. If i had to call it something model 1890. because by then he was into the Schuetzen game pretty much. He shot NRA rules before , hence all single triggers. 
     the action design was different,minor and Major differences as he seemed to try to improve as he went along. i believe he had batches of steel castings made and made the other parts as he thought best. Mostly hand made not like we think as a production run. external finish was good, but internal not so much.

Rodney, other than length, are the dimensions of the long and short actions similar?  Was Farrow working from a single type of casting?  Maybe even a single run?

Other writers have noted that as the SN of the originals increase, the location of pins and screw-holes changes.  Have you seen any patterns?

     I believe there were at least 2 different castings used the single trigger lever and DST levers, and receivers are shaped different. I think Farrow stated that he made 7 different actions. 
    The grand daughters was smaller and looked like the long frame except it was a martini type block with an hammer extremely well finished with full nickel plating and checkering. Got to find those pictures.
     It is my belief that he was involved in the 2 Brown rifles that his Friend patented. Because of the way the insides were finished. No proof just a suspicion.

FYI,, tom rowe is gathering info on farrows and is going to do a book on them,if you have an original or paperwork or pictures ,etc,etc .get in contact with him,all info would be great to have down.     tony <><
