Just got my new CPA. 30" long 12" twist, half-round Shlen barrel chambered in 38-55. Using an MVA B5 scope for BPCR, but will have to "get fancy" for Schuetzen at some point. Should be fun. Will send the receiver/lever off to be case-colored next week, but checkering and finishing of the wood will likely wait unto next fall.
EDIT: 2nd pic is the action just back from high-temp bone-charcoal case-color. Terrific job and looks great with the blues, etc. Too bad my photo-skills are not as good as the case-color work.

Thanks, all. I wasn't fond of an 'old' CPA from the mid-90's that I once owned, but the couple recent ones I've shot in past few years were much nicer. Without having fired this rifle, I like feel & balance well enough that I contacted today Gail and ordered a 24" Shilen rachet-rifled 22LR barrel in the same half-round contour as this 38cal barrel.
And, yes, single-screw forearm.

Thanks Glenn I have always thought the single screw forearm was pleasing to the eye and the rifle.

Indeed........... blame Tom. He did it. To see some of his other work look at my Hepburns in another one of the rifle photos thread.
Tom also did the case-color on all my Hepburns in this thread:

Thx.
Had a beautiful, almost windless morning today. Got to the range about 7:15 (was 21F per the car) and was sighting-in at 50yd, then 100yd shortly there after. The outside edge of my wet patches (water-based cutting oil) were just frozen and took a bit of effort to separate each one.
By the time I moved over to the 200yd bench it was up to 40F on its way to 57F and still almost no breeze. Had two 5-shot groups <1moa and eliminated CCI LP primers as a possible source of ignition, so that was good.
Managed 73-shots in 3.5hr and can say for sure that is a tiring amount of shooting with a case full of 2F Swiss & 333gr & 365gr bullets. Good thing that matches are generally fewer shots and over a considerably longer period of time.
The rifle operated perfectly and the Shilen barrel is nice & 'slick' and cleaned up with little effort. Think it will be a good one.
Dang........... wish I had thought to take a pic of the rifle sitting in the rests at the bench. Was a beautiful day to take an out-door pic of a nice rifle.
