Had to get all of these out to check serial numbers as part of the firearms registration process out here in South Australia. So took the opportunity to take a group photo. There is one more Aydt and the Model 71 Mauser Bolt gun that are not shown. Apologies for the poor quality background

Shocked
That's a nice collection! I hope your government never decides that they're too dangerous for you to own.

All so beautiful but the little guy is really cute. What is the story on it? That switch barrel is drop dead gorgeous.

Nice grouping of rifles!

Are these hard to find "down under"? How did they make their way there? WWII veterans? Importers?

Very nice, I always enjoy photos of German Schuetzen rifles. I began accumulating them my self about 35 yrs ago, have a take down much like the one in your collection but it is Austrian. The family has grown to 9 plus 5 stalking rifles.

I'm not the biggest fan of German Schuetzen rifle style and proportions, but thank you for showing them. They can show some of the best tid bits of hand craftsmanship.

The small action may have come from the "left overs" of a closed local gunsmith back int the 60's or 70's. I have plans to build it into a .22 lr. and am slowly putting plans together but honestly I have multiple project rifles at present so not really sure when I will get around to it (3 low walls, 3 high walls, a Mod 56 Stevens). All I need is time and money  Grin

I would suggest they are scarce down here but obviously not impossible to find. In the last two weeks I have become aware of at least 3 others but no idea as to their type or condition as yet.

Australia, like the US, has a large German immigrant population so its possible the rifles may have come through them. There was  dealer bring in rifles like theses out of the us back in the 70's and 80's.... so simple answer is who knows, but luckily they are here.
