Never saw one like that. Could mean a 25" twist, no gain. What is the caliber?
Is there a Pope number? That would be the barrel number in his shop log. Is it a False Muzzle Barrel? What action is it? Lot of questions I know but all of these could have an affect. FITZ. OLD TUCK. Smiley

In my limited experience, Pope stamps in the form of "X/X" were used to indicate gain twist rates.  Therefore, while it's an odd way to do it, Old Tuck is likely right that "25/0" should be interpreted as a uniform 25" twist.

That is a code Pope used for settings on his rifling machine. It does not tell what the twist rate was.

If a 22 Short, that is a 1-in-25" twist, not gain (hence the '0'), barrel. As that is how my Pope high wall is marked.
  
All of my single shots shoot one tiny ragged hole with cast bullets ... it's just the following shots that tend to open up my groups Wink ...
