Casting today for 25-20 SS and 32-20

Mounted up my new to me old Lyman mold 257463 (a Loverin design) in a pair of old Lyman handles. It sure is a pleasure to cast with this pair. The handles are comfortable and the bullets fall out of the mold as it opens. I fired up the gas 25 pound pot and when melted turned down the gas and it stabilized at 780 so I went with that. A little hotter than I usually use but I was also casting with an Accurate dual cavity aluminum mold 31-125M and 31-125MC (.312 125 grain small flat nose with and without gas check) and it was cool outside so went with it. The Lyman cast 1 to 20 at exactly 76 grains and between .258 and .259 ( I size to .257 for my 44/45 Stevens). The 32-20 ones will be shot in my original 44 1/2 Stevens with a BRC choked barrel (.312 and 16 twist) when my smith gets around to putting the two together;-) I will have plenty of bullets ready for testing anyway.

Old Soldier, I think you're right. I just rounded up all the bullets that I had scattered here and there which I have been casting for the 32-20 while I've been waiting on my smith to get it finished and I think I may have enough to get me started on load development. I weighed the box I put them all in and figured I have over 700 bullets ready. Now, if I can just get the smith to get the rifle finished;-)
