Richard Binger. Back in the seventies. Richard says the block was made by Peterson but unfinished when he purchased it.
I installed correct sights and made the palm rest. Pete Berube made the wooden handle picked from the prize table at Hamilton, MT last month.

Ya gotta love a hammerless Ballard, especially if it has a Peterson block. If it fits you at all, I'll be that butt stock makes it a dream to shoot offhand.

Thanks for posting another picture of this beauty and a target!
I hadn't heard how it shot yet - I like it.
I see another project in my future - looks interesting and a bit of a challenge- going to have to dig for a little more details.
