FLZ single shot 22 ?
Sep 9th, 2019 at 11:31pm
Print Post
Just acquired a Friedrich Langenhan single shot in 22 . It has a rear tang sight  , barrel sight that can move farther away from the action (6.5") and a front sight that has 4 sights on a rotating stem . Any info would be greatly appreciated as to value ( I know it is a condition based value) rarety , shooting characteristics etc.
Thanks in advance

Hopefully, someone here has a similar rifle and thus doesn't need pictures in order to give you some kind of guess.

They are very similar to the Haenel Kleinkaliber Sport single shots. If you got all the sight with it, you are very lucky. These rifles are usually missing at least one or more of the sights that they came with.
My FLZ was a custom(ized) gun, so I don't have a good idea of value, but they should be similar to the Haenel: anywhere from ~$500 to $1000+ depending on condition, originality, sights, area of the country, etc.

Thank you gewehrfreund . Then I got a great deal .
Off a rest it will shoot 1/4" , 5 shot group at 50 yds. with standard velocity CCI .
What a hoot to shoot a 80-90 yr.old rifle .

Pulaksi, is your rear sight serial numbered to the rifle? You are lucky to have found one with all 3 sights. So far, the best I could do is find one with the original matching rear sight, and a replaced front sight. Shoots great!

Here is the front sight . Notice how you can turn the sight blades (4) for what you want

Wow!  Nice rifle; impressive sights; and all original, too.
