	Sure sounds like a great rig. Got lots going for it. I have a Stevens 44 in that caliber and I am playing with IMR 4227 and like it. Haven't tried. Lilgun so no help for you with that. I will be interested to see what posters are using.. Enjoy Bob

	Hornet, are you saying it's not grouping well? I use 6.8 grains of H108 with Lyman 257420 and never any filler with any load in the 25-20 SS.

	My best is breech seating 105 gr. Hoch and 120 gr. NOE using Accurate 4100 now called Enforcer I believe.

	MT, what is your barrel's twist? The twist in older barrels was never intended for bullets that heavy.

	It is 1-12" and a Badger barrel put on a Stevens 44 1/2 that was orig. a .25 rf.

	In my experience, Lil'Gun likes higher pressures than the .25-20 normally runs at when shooting cast bullets. Just right for full power loads in the Hornet and .22 Lovell, though.

	Hornet: Read your post with interest. I have a kissing cousin to your rifle. Same configuration, trigger. Using a Lyman targetspot 10X. Serial # is 9571x. What is yours numbered? My bore is bright but as expected has pitts beyond the chamber a few inches in corners of grooves. Outside is very faded CC, worn bbl blue, ect. Just a used early rifle, unmessed with. Have not had it to the range but have cases, ect and it will get shot (when is the question). Will start with 4227 Good luck. andy

	I think you have been given some help, like, ditch the Lil Gun. Try 2400 which works well in the 25-20 SS. In lieu of the H108 try AA9 or 300MP or the 4100 one. What diameter is your bullet and where are you seating it? You're not crimping it, are you? Do you work up your loads in .3 grain increments?

	Best to just go out and try different powders, primers and alloys it's not typical for two rifles to like the same.

	hornet, our rifles could be twins !!! Mine has a perfect original bore. I have found that with a 1 in 12 twist, mine likes: 68 gr. Winchester bullet (an old gas check mold with the gas check portion milled off), Lyman 257420 bullet with a gas check, and the RCBS 85 gr Cowboy bullet. No crimp on any of the loads tested. All bullets sized .258 from 1 in 20 lead. I have used the following and gotten outstanding accuracy at 50 yards. 68 gr Winch. Bullet 7.5 gr. 4227 or 7.5gr 2400 CCI CB4 match primer SPG lube Neck tension at .0015 Lyman 257420 GC 7.5 gr 2400 Federal 205M Neck tension .0015 RCBS 85 gr Cowboy 7.0 gr. 2400 CCI CB4 primer Neck tension .0015 My rifle likes the lighter bullets better than the 85 gr., and prefers a dirty bore (three Foulers). Mine has a number 1 barrel on it, (so is too light for Schuetzen work) and will group into a half inch at 50 yards benched. I use mine for squirrel hunting, so I have never tried for accuracy farther than that. JLouis has it right, no two rifles will like the same load equally. Good Luck, Tom
