32-35 Stevens-Maynard

Recently purchased a nice Maynard number 15 in 32-35. Need some brass. Appears to have a tight chamber. 30-30 brass needs a lot of work to fit. Will try Rocky Mountain later today. Any other ideas? Collet to squeeze 30-30 brass?

My Stevens 107 does fine with .30-30 brass, shortened and run into a .32-40 FLS die.  If the base of your shells are where the sticking is, maybe a small amount could be ground off the bottom of such a die to swage the base down a little more.

A chamber cast ought to show you where the reductions need to be made, and the possibilities.  Heavy-duty base swaging would probably need a hydraulic press.

I'll be interested to hear how you make out since I still need to form a bunch of "shooter" brass out of .30-30 cases for my Maynard in .32-35 SM.  I have a friend who is a hobby machinist with some pretty good equipment and we're contemplating making a set of progressive swaging dies to reduce the base diameter to fit my chamber.  As mentioned we're thinking that he will have to fabricate a series of dies to use in his hydraulic press and we'd take them down in 2 or 3 steps.  We'd lube them up, press them in, reverse the die, and press them out.  I have thousands of rounds of .30-30 brass included in my large, hoarded "stash" of brass, so if we end up sacrificing a bunch of them to the "brass Gods" during the learning process then we're really not too concerned ...
Please keep us posted as to your results.

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't quite reached my "Expiry" date yet ...
