I'm using Winchester brand .303 brass to reform in my Remington Hepburn and the rim thickness is fine for my rifle too ...

I may have passed my "Best Before" date, but I haven't quite reached my "Expiry" date yet ...

Are the rims the correct thickness on the 303 and the 30-40 brass to headspace correctly in the 40-50 SS chamber?
i have just started to research this cartridge.  Glad i found this post.

Yes, the rims work fine for .303 or .30-40 for both my original Rolling Block, and my recently completed version. Both in .40-50SS.

With my new barrel it is a .408 dia  1/16 twist , I picked up a Snover 40 cal bullet mold, last time I saw pictures of my barrel on the action and MVA scope mounts and MVA front sight mounted.  Cheesy Cheesy I have been busy trimming 303 brass and getting things ready. I found some IMR4198 powder this past weekend at a gun show and grabbed that. I will order some AA2495 as well.
