	surfing the net for single shot stuff and ran across this Pump action martini- Combain rifle I think it would make a fine small game rifle.

	If the "pump" works the block (and the extractor?), does the the trigger guard/under lever just cock the action? Any idea who made this Rube Goldberg? Bill Lawrence

	I would guess it was made by Nagant. also guess that it cocks and ejects the shell as you pump the forearm back then drop a cartridge in and pump the forearm foreward and you are ready to fire. my 2 cents

	That is just plain cool. By the looks of it, it must have worked pretty well or it wouldn't have lasted long enough to look to be in that condition. Or, possibly functioned as a single shot after all else failed. I would love to see the internals. Perhaps a patent search? For Comblain repeater?

	The trigger guard doesn't look anything like a normal Comblain, and not enough clearance for it to be moved like a normal Comblain action is to operate it. I think this isn't something "built up", but something manufactured new this way. The question now is how many were built?

	It is the third one that I have seen---all in fairly battered condition. The trigger guard does not move. Fred

	If it is like a Comblain the main v spring is enclosed in the trigger housing. IDK just guessing.Fred, the picture that I posted had a reference to rook rifle, which might explain the condition. I have found the patent list of Emil Nagant and there is a reference to a quick loading rifle and improvements to it, maybe? They are Belgian patents, so will have to keep digging.

Bill Lawrence Most likely because that would be a complete design change to change the trigger/spring design. Simply adding a pump operating rod and forearm under the barrel to do what the trigger guard used to do is a simple change to improve the Comblain's cocking mechanism. It doesn't require much of a design change to accomplish this change.
