Neat pictures. Doesn't appear to be the typical studio garb supplied by the photographer. Meek is well known around my area for his time spent as a trapper with Hudson's Bay Co. here at Ft. Vancouver.

I'll bet the rifle Meek is holding is not a studio prop and likely one of his favourites.

I blew it way up and still can't see if it has DST or not? If it did it would be a custom since Remington didn't offer them on that gun.
From the look of the forearm cap it appears to be a very early style steel cap that's rounded, and not the more commonly seen later cap.

It does look unusually long Ken, especially towards the rear. Normally the trigger guard stops about even with the rear edge of the receiver, but Meek's seems to go back past the receiver? This is the way Freund did conversions by retaining the leading edge, but moving the opening back to make room for the 2nd trigger.
Wish I could enlarge it and make it clear enough to see the triggers.

First I, too, thought I saw double-sets; now I think the rear "trigger" is the continuation of a crease in his pant leg.  But the guard does seem oversized.  Nutz!

No, that's part of the painted back drop, apparently depicting a stream running down the hillside.

I thought it was a deer antler? Never seen so many dead critters in one studio photo before!
