September 19, 1902 (page 58) Ross-Pope, No.4 oct barrel .32-40, Pope muzzle loader, V-rest, carefully prepared lead bullets with bases square to bullet body, 6 of 7 shots trapped in oiled sawdust in good condition. The bullet of shot no.5 not found in sawdust trap. The amount bullet bases were upset out of square with body (oblique) was in close proportion to the distance they printed from the group center, see Fig. 27 below. Group size was 1.25 inches. Notes on the right hand edge of figure list the amount the bases were out of square (oblique) with the bullet body.
