I see Japan wax used in many of the original bullet lube formulas.  Has anyone used this wax in their homemade lubes?

Japan Wax was a favorite of Harry Pope.  Back turn of the Century it as prevalent & cheap.  Today, it is scarce and expensive.
I made one batch with mutton tallow - Japan Wax and Jojoba Oil ... Melting temp is 40-55 C degrees - applied and stayed on the bullets.   
But because of the Japan Wax cost - low melting temperature - one batch was it
