So when you have WAY too many project guns already on the go and not enough time to get to them all what do you do?  WELL ... YOU BUY ANOTHER GUN OF COURSE!

My latest acquisition is a German Schuetzen Martini in 8.15x46R marked "H. Speeman in Neuss".  (Does anyone have any information on Herr Speeman that they could share?)  The barrel is beautifully contoured and the stock fits me like a glove.  The good news is that the seller supplied it with some of his ammo (reformed from .30-30 cases) so I'm taking my brother in law out to the range on Friday and we'll test fire it.  Can anyone make out the initials in script on the rifle?  (Which I would suspect are the initials of the original owner.)

Must have exceeded the limit ... it wouldn't add the script plate on the first post ...

I'd say either FP or TP

Very nice rifle. The German Schuetzen rifles are still the best bang for your buck out there, especially when you find one that fits you.

I can't say as I've ever seen a tang sight like that one before on any schuetzen rifle? Very different from the usual type I've seen.

I think they are pseudo-initials - i.e., an initial-like design to fill a space where initials usually go.  I've seen similar executions on pocket watch cases.

Beautiful Rifle with an amazing amount of Charm that just cannot be denied. Congratulations it appears to be in remarkably good shape and very well taken care of over the years.

Looking at it again, is that another one of those take down barrels? By golly it is. The same action as the "Stylish" post. How rare is that!

It appears to be the same action as the "Stylish" Schuetzen ... just not as nicely embellished.  Does anyone have any information on these actions?

Al, If you keep going like you are, it won't be any time at all that you will need another gun safe !!!!  Dale.

The first German schuetzen rifle I owned (60 years ago) was one with a takedown mechanism like that.   I later made a 22RF bbl for it that shot very well.  It was an Austrian rifle.

I haven't attempted to take this rifle apart yet.  What is the proceedure?
